Install the Logitech camera software and hardware

Before you connect the candidate admissions camera, make sure you have read the Place the admissions equipment topic and have selected a suitable location for the device. Follow this procedure to install the camera drivers on the administration workstation.

In the kit you will find a Logitech HD Webcam C615or C920 camera.

Sites with Windows 11 administration and proctor workstations should not download and install the Logitech camera driver. Sites on Windows 11 can simply plug in the Logitech camera and allow Windows to detect the driver for this device.

If your site upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11, you must uninstall the Logitech camera driver. The Windows 10 camera drivers cause issues with how the Logitech camera works with the VTS software.

Only sites with Windows 10 administration and proctor workstations are required to install the Logitech camera driver.

Install Logitech C615 camera

  1. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the Downloads directory.
  2. Double-click the lws280.exe file.
  3. Select Run in the Open File - Security Warning dialog box.

  4. Select Yes in the User Account Control dialog box.

  5. In the Logitech Webcam Software Installation Welcome dialog box, select English from the Language drop down list, and select Next.

  6. Plug the camera into a USB port on the administration workstation and select Next.

  7. Select Next after the Webcam Connected dialog box appears.

  8. Make sure only the Logitech Webcam Drivers are selected. Keep the default Installation Directory and select Next.

  9. The software now runs through the install process.
  10. In the Check Settings dialog box, Webcam should be Logitech HD Webcam C615, and the Microphone should be HD Webcam C615. Select Next.

  11. Select Finish Up. The installation is complete.

Install Logitech C920 camera

  1. Plug the camera into a USB port.
  2. Wait until the message stating the Device is ready appears on your screen.

  3. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the Downloads directory.
  4. Double-click the LogiCameraSettings_2.12.8.exe file.
  5. Select the I accept the terms of the License Agreement option in the License Agreement dialog box and select Install.

  6. The installation runs.
  7. When the installation is complete, select Finish in the Completing Logitech Camera Settings Setup dialog box.

Install Logitech C920e camera

  1. Plug the camera into a USB port.
  2. Wait until the message stating the Device is ready appears on your screen. 

  3. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the Downloads directory.
  4. Double-click the LogiTuneInstall.exe file.
  5. Select Run in the Open File - Security Warning dialog box.

  6. Select Install Logi Tune in the Welcome to Logi Tune installer dialog box.

  7. Select Confirm or No thanks in the Help us improve our products dialog box.

  8. Select Install in the Windows Security dialog box. 

    Confirm installing Logitech software.

  9. The Logitech software drivers are installed. Select the Close button when the Welcome to Logi Tune window opens.
