Opening Delivery Manager at PVTC Selects

Follow these steps to open Delivery Manager on the delivery workstation in the virtual environment:

Delivery Manager may take some extra time to load in the virtual environment. (See step 3 in the following procedure.) Also, Cloud Control Technology has a pool of resources for each exam delivery. When you start Delivery Manager on a workstation, you use resources from the pool.

To better manage resources and prevent further wait time, follow these best practices:

  • Start Delivery Manager 15 minutes right before each appointment time during the day. Do not start Delivery Manager too early.

  • Review the schedule for the day and plan when to start Delivery Manager early.

  • Do not start Delivery Manager on workstations that will not deliver exams.

  • Keep Delivery Manager on the login screen. Do not log in until you check in the candidate and escort them to the workstation.

Before you proceed, make sure you are done using any other programs and applications on the delivery workstation. When you are in the virtual environment that hosts the VUE applications, you do not have access to any other programs, applications, or web browsers.

  1. On the desktop, double-click the Delivery Manager icon.

or

Click Start on the Windows taskbar, point to All Programs, Pearson, Cloud Control, and click the Delivery Manager application.

  1. Review and accept the terms in the Cloud Control license agreement if the agreement appears on the screen.

The agreement appears on the screen when it is your first time launching Cloud Control. You are not able to proceed any further unless you accept the agreement.

To accept the agreement, select "I accept the terms in the license agreement," and click OK.

  1. Wait for the connection to complete and the session to start.

The wait may be brief or take a few minutes. The screen displays a window that shows you the progress of both the connection and session.

When the connection is complete and the session starts, Delivery Manager appears in the virtual environment.

It may take some extra time for Delivery Manager to load in the virtual environment. As a result, you see nothing but a blue screen for a few minutes. If Delivery Manager does not appear on the screen after you wait for 5 minutes, contact VSS.

  1. When the Delivery Manager – Login window appears, leave the window open and do not log in until you need to start an exam for a candidate.

For more information about starting exams, see Starting an exam using Delivery Manager.  For more information about using Delivery Manager throughout the exam delivery process, review Chapter 9, Managing Exam Delivery.
