Cleaning the DIA device

To ensure proper performance, clean the document window on the DIA device regularly. Use a safe cloth that will not damage the glass surface, such as a microfiber cleaning cloth. Your test center needs to purchase a safe cloth if it does not already have one.

Follow these steps to clean the DIA device:

  1. Set the power switch to the off position.

  2. Clean the document window with a clean, safe cloth.

For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the safe cloth with a mild glass cleaner. To avoid damage, do not directly spray the glass cleaner onto the device.

Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, and avoid using stiff cloths or paper towels on the DIA device. These cleaning instruments might scratch the glass or damage its plastic casing.

  1. Verify that there are no streaks or smudges on the document window.

Use a flashlight to help you see if the document window area is too dark.

  1. Clean the plastic body of the device with a safe cloth slightly dampened with a mild glass cleaner.

  2. Set the power switch to the on position.

  3. Verify that the device is working properly.
