Installation directories - workgroup scenario

After you install the Pearson VUE Testing System as described in Install the workgroup scenario, your administration/server workstation will contain the directories and contents listed below.

Although we recommend that you install these files in the default directory (the default directory is C:\Pearson VUE) you may choose to install them elsewhere. The installation instructions assume that you are using the default directory structure.

  1. C:\Pearson VUE – the shared directory on the server/administration workstation
    1. VUE Testing System (Note that this is referred to as your %VUERoot% directory.)
      1. active-link - points to the current version within releases
      2. app – application files
      3. bin – binary files and executables
      4. biotemp – Palm Vein templates stored here when the backup utility for palm vein is used to capture a candidate’s palm
      5. db – local database
      6. evt – event (registration) information
      7. exm – exam files
      8. fr – not used at this time
      9. i18n – files used for translating content into other languages
      10. i18nroot – files used for translating content into other languages
      11. java – Java program and class files
      12. lock – flag files for which applications are open
      13. Log – various log files for use by VSS
      14. media – media files used for exam delivery
      15. mon – exam monitor used to place communication files that are used to communicate status messages between Delivery Manager and Exam Monitor
      16. releases – holds releases of the software
      17. td – test driver and installation files
      18. Temp – temporary directory for copying and renaming files
      19. wks – stores information about delivery workstations
