Installation directories - server scenario
After you install the Pearson VUE Testing System as described in Install the server scenario, your file server will contain the directories and contents listed below.
Although we recommend that you install these files in the default directory (the default directory is C:\Pearson VUE) you may choose to install them elsewhere. The installation instructions assume that you are using the default directory structure.
- C:\Pearson VUE – the shared directory on the server/administration workstation
- VUE Testing System (Note that this is referred to as your %VUERoot% directory.)
- active-link - points to the current version within releases
- app – application files
- bin – binary files and executables
- biotemp – Palm Vein templates stored here when the backup utility for palm vein is used to capture a candidate’s palm
- db – local database
- evt – event (registration) information
- exm – exam files
- fr – not used at this time
- i18n – files used for translating content into other languages
- i18nroot – files used for translating content into other languages
- java – Java program and class files
- lock – flag files for which applications are open
- Log – various log files for use by VSS
- media – media files used for exam delivery
- mon – exam monitor used to place communication files that are used to communicate status messages between Delivery Manager and Exam Monitor
- releases – holds releases of the software
- td – test driver and installation files
- Temp – temporary directory for copying and renaming files
- wks – stores information about delivery workstations
- VUE Testing System (Note that this is referred to as your %VUERoot% directory.)
