Possible DIA results

The DIA device gives you one of three possible authentication results after scanning a candidate's ID. The ID either passes, fails, or is not recognized. An ID passes if the DIA device successfully authenticates it, but it fails if the DIA device cannot authenticate it. The DIA device might also inform you that it does not recognize an ID for one of the following reasons:

  • The ID was not properly placed on the document window.

  • The ID moved during the scanning process.

  • The ID was not found in the DIA device's database.

When providing a pass or fail authentication result, Admissions Manager displays a copy of the candidate's photo from the ID. If the ID does not contain a photo, Admissions Manager will instead display the text "No image available."

This photo is part of the DIA result and should not be used in place of any photo in the "Capture photograph" step.
