About digital ID authentication
If you see the "Complete DIA" step in Admissions Manager, the exam sponsor requires you to complete the digital ID authentication (DIA) process with the candidate's ID. The DIA device recognizes the ID it scans and compares the ID to others in its database. It then confirms whether the ID is authentic, valid, and unaltered. During this process, Admissions Manager prompts you with next steps.
While it is often updated to reflect changing IDs, the DIA device's database is not always current. The DIA process also cannot alert you to candidates who might be proxy testers. For these reasons, the DIA process does not replace Pearson VUE's required manual ID-check. Instead, it is an extra layer of security to verify a candidate's identity. Be sure to complete both the manual ID check and the DIA process when you see these steps in Admissions Manager.
