Positioning hands for palm vein capture
To capture palm vein patterns accurately and efficiently, it is important to have candidates position their hands properly on the palm vein device each time before you click the button to begin the palm vein scan.
Correct hand positioning is especially important when you first scan a candidate's palms for enrollment. The enrollment scans are compared with the scans that are collected during palm vein verification. This means that if a palm vein pattern is not captured accurately during enrollment, it may be difficult to verify later on.
To capture high-quality scans, tell candidates to follow these guidelines each time you scan a candidate's palm:
-
Place your hand flat on the palm vein device.
-
Spread your fingers apart, and slide them forward until your hand reaches the edge of the finger dividers.
-
Hold your hand still while the device captures your palm vein pattern.
The following images show examples of correct and incorrect hand placements.
