Coat racks
If your test center has a coat rack, follow these guidelines:
-
Candidates should hang only coats, sweatshirts, and similar clothing items on the coat rack. All other personal belongings (including bags, purses, or backpacks) should be placed in the locked storage.
-
If candidates choose to use the coat rack, you do not need to inspect the pockets on the clothing items they choose to hang up. However, direct the candidates to empty their pockets and store all personal belongings in the locked storage.
-
Treat the coat rack the same as the locked storage. During breaks, monitor access to the coat rack according to each exam sponsor's personal belongings policy.
-
Layered indoor clothing (such as sweaters, sweatshirts, and blazers) is allowed inside the testing room. (For more information, see Permitted personal items.) If candidates store a permitted item of clothing on the coat rack during check-in and later want to wear the item inside the testing room, follow the standard pat-down process to confirm there is nothing stored inside the item's pockets. (For more information, see Checking items brought into the testing room.)
