Using the History tab to locate a candidate record

The History tab on the Customers screen allows you to search for a candidate record by entering the candidate's order number from a previous registration or the candidate's registration identification (ID) number. This search method does not require you to first select a candidate in the Customers screen.

Candidates receive an order number after registration either through the candidate website or from the person who performed the registration at the test center or the call center. If the candidate received a confirmation letter from Pearson VUE, the order number is also listed in the letter.

Follow these steps to search for a candidate's record using an order number or registration ID number:

  1. Ask the candidate for the order number or registration ID number.

  2. Click the History tab on the Customers screen.

  3. From the Show drop-down list, select one of the following options:

  • Select Exam History, Using Order No to locate all registrations on an order by entering the order number.

  • Select Exam History, Using Reg ID to locate a specific registration by entering its registration ID.

When you select one of these options from the Show drop-down list, either an order number field or a registration ID field becomes available next to the drop-down list.

  1. Type the number into the field, and then click Find.

If the number is valid, all registrations that match the number are listed in the History tab. By default, the first registration on the list is selected if there is more than one registration. Additionally, this search has obtained the candidate's record in Registration Manager. To confirm, you should see the candidate's name selected in the work list field on the left side of the screen. Also, when you click the Primary tab, the candidate's demographic information appears on the screen.
