Adding a discount to a saved order

In the History tab on the Customers screen in Registration Manager, you can add a discount to an already saved order. You might need to do this if, for example, a candidate calls to say he found out about a discount after he had registered for an exam.

When you are adding discounts through the History tab, the same rules apply as when you add one while creating an order. For example, the order must still contain the items required to qualify for the discount.

You cannot remove a discount from an order using this process.

Follow these steps to add a discount to a saved order:

After finding the candidate's record, click the History tab on the Customers screen.

Select which exams you want to view from the Show drop-down list, and then select the registration.
Click Edit Order.

The Edit Order window appears. The window contains information about the registration's order and lists the items that are included in the order.

Click Add a Discount.

The Add a discount window appears with the appropriate tab selected.

Select a discount from the General tab, or enter a promotion code or voucher number into the Vouchers Number/Promotion Code field in the Vouchers/Promotions tab.

If you need to view information about the discount, click Details.

Click Apply.

If the order does not qualify for the discount, a message appears and explains why.

If the order does qualify, the Edit Order window reappears. The discount now appears in the Order Items list, and the Refund area indicates how the discount will be refunded. In this case, because the discount covers the entire cost of the order, the entire amount that was initially paid will be refunded to the candidate. If the order was originally paid for with a credit card, the Refund section indicates that the card will be credited for the amount shown.

Pearson VUE will process the candidate's refund the next business day, but candidates who paid by credit card should be told that the credit may not show up on their statements until the next month.

Click Save in the Edit Order window to save the revised order.
