Spanish language check-in documents

What should TAs do if a Spanish-speaking candidate needs help understanding the check-in process?

Provide the Handout for Spanish-speaking Candidates. This document is available along with other Texas Insurance materials in the Resources application of the Connect portal. It explains the initial check-in process and the process for checking into the testing room. Collect the document once the candidate is done using it.

Note: Candidates who want to take a Spanish exam must select Spanish at the time of scheduling. The language cannot be changed during check-in.

Required ID

How many IDs are required?

Two: One primary ID and one secondary ID

Primary ID requirements

The primary ID must be government issued, unexpired, and original.

If the primary ID is one of the following, it must have a photograph and a signature to be valid. 

  1. Driver's license

Note: Temporary licenses with all required elements are acceptable

  1. Learner's permit (plastic card only)

  2. National/state/country identification card

  3. Passport

  4. Government-issued local language ID (plastic card only)

If the primary ID is one of the following, only a photograph is needed for it to be valid. It does not require a signature.

  • Alien registration card (green card, permanent resident, visa)

  • Military ID

  • Military ID for spouses and dependents

  • Passport card

Secondary ID requirements

The secondary ID must be unexpired and have a signature.

  1. U.S. Social Security card

Electronic devices

Candidates who access or use any electronic devices, including mobile phones, during breaks are not permitted to continue testing. Follow the steps below.

  1. Inform the candidate that they cannot continue their exam.

  2. Turn the candidate away.

  3. Put the exam in unscheduled break mode and allow it to time out.

  4. Create a case, selecting Exam delivery, Candidate error or misconduct, and Candidates accessed or attempted to use unauthorized item.

Yes, candidates can view their score report on the candidate website (https://www.pearsonvue.com/us/en/tx/insurance.html).

To access the score report, candidates must sign in to their Pearson VUE account and select View score reports under My account.

Is fingerprinting required?

Yes, all candidates seeking a TX Insurance license are required to submit fingerprints for a criminal background check.

How do candidates get fingerprinted?

  1. Candidates can schedule to have their electronic/digital fingerprints captured by calling IdentoGO at 1-888-467-2080 or by going to www.ibtfingerprint.com.

  2. Pearson VUE does not provide fingerprinting for TX Insurance candidates.
