The CREST Registered Tester  exam is a lab-based exam please be aware of the following information:

Lab-Based Exams

Some CREST exams have a "live lab" section. These exams are considered "lab-based exams," and they require a sustained remote connection to a third-party server for exam delivery. To connect to the third-party server, lab-based exams depend on a steady internet connection.

Because the exams are lab-based, be sure to contact VSS immediately for assistance if there are any technical issues during the exam.

Some technical issues might include the following:

·       Lab disappearing from exam. Please allow up to 5 minutes for the lab to be re-established.

·       Issues brought to the attention of the test administrator by the candidate.

When there are technical issues, create a case or update an existing case if one has already been created. When creating the case, select Exam delivery and Problem with computer software. Be sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

·       What time did the issue occur?

·       Did the lab load, or were there issues during the loading part?

·       Was the problem due to latency issues or issues with the content in the lab?

·       Can you describe the behaviour?

·       Was there an error message?

·       Were there other lab exams being delivered concurrently?

·       Did you move the candidate to another workstation?

·       What web browser and operating system (i.e. Microsoft Windows 10) was being used on the workstation?

·       What steps did you perform to reproduce the issue, if any?

Important: During the CCT-INF exam

Candidates will be given 20 minutes of reading time before the exam actually starts. Although this has been configured as an optional resource where candidates decide how much of this time they actually use, they must ensure that they wait until the 20 minutes have expired before starting the exam.

This will be required in the exam session to ensure that the lab has been fully loaded. This is a small bug that is being fixed, but due to not being critical for running the exam, CREST have decided to maintain the booked exam sessions and avoid unnecessary disruption.

CREST have extensively tested this and, as long as candidates follow the guidelines above, they won't have any issues with the exam once it starts after the 20 minute reading slot.

CRESTDrive

Candidates taking the CCTINF-P and CCTAPP-P exams will have been sent a link to CRESTDrive prior to the exam by the client. Using this link they are able to upload files that can be accessed, but not edited, during the exam.

Because the exams are lab-based, be sure to contact VSS immediately for assistance if there are any technical issues during the exam.

If there are any technical issues with this please create a case or update an existing case if one has already been created. When creating the case, select Exam delivery and Problem with computer software. Please include as much detail as possible in the case notes.
