IDENTIFICATION

Identification Requirements

Primary & Secondary: do not immediately turn away a candidate for identification issues unless the candidate has no identification.

If there is an ID concern, contact the test center support line to speak with an ABOG program coordinator.

Primary ID

  1. Government-issued driver's license

  2. Passport

  3. Military ID

  4. Alien registration card (green card or permanent resident visa)

  5. State/country ID card

  6. School/employee ID

Note: The primary ID must contain both the candidate's photo and signature.

Secondary ID

  1. Any primary ID

  2. Social Security card

  3. Credit/ATM card

Note: The secondary ID must contain either the candidate's photo or signature. If the candidate is not able to provide a sufficient secondary ID, the candidate's confirmation letter can qualify as a secondary ID. If the candidate is not able to provide a secondary ID or the confirmation letter, you may still admit the candidate, but create a case. ABOG will follow up with the candidate.

Local Language ID

Government-issued local ID is acceptable as long as the ID meets the established Pearson VUE guidelines.

NAME-MATCHING GUIDELINES

Names are not required to match. Only turn away a candidate if the name and photo do not match. If names do not match, ask the candidate to explain the discrepancy, and document the difference in a case. ABOG will follow up with the candidate to verify identity if necessary.

Note: If names do not match, you may ask the candidate to document the name change (marriage license/divorce decree), but documentation is not required to test. Document anything the candidate was able to provide in a case.

DEMOGRAPHIC CHANGES

Not permitted; candidates must contact ABOG to update their demographic information.

ADMISSIONS DATA

Digital signature, palm vein, photograph

Note: Collected only at test centers that have the necessary admissions equipment to capture the data.

ADMISSIONS DATA WAIVERS

If the candidate requests an admissions data waiver and has not received prior approval, allow the candidate to test but create a case. When you create the case, select Admissions/Check-in and Admissions data waivers. In the case details, indicate that the candidate did not have prior approval to waive the admissions data collection.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED TO TEST

None

LATE ARRIVALS

  1. Most ABOG exams are delivered during a one-day testing event in the summer.  All efforts should be made to deliver a candidate's exam. If a candidate arrives more than 30 minutes late for their exam and starting the exam will result in your test center staying open longer than the scheduled period, you must obtain approval from your regional manager in order to accommodate the candidate.

  2. If there is only one candidate scheduled for your test center and that candidate is more than 30 minutes late, call the test center support line for information on how long you should wait for the candidate.

  3. Candidates taking ABOG's Maintenance of Certification on-demand exams may be turned away if they are more than thirty minutes late.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

REGISTRATION AND SCHEDULING

Registration Methods

ABOG candidates can register and schedule by:

  1. Visiting the candidate website (https://www.pearsonvue.com/abog).

  2. Calling the ABOG registration number at the call center.

Candidates can phone the call center at 1-888-235-7650 (toll free) Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Central Standard Time.

Note: Registration and scheduling are not available through test centers.

Registration Information

  1. ABOG candidates cannot register or schedule unless they have an authorization record in the database.

  2. All payments for exam fees are handled through ABOG. Pearson VUE never collects or refunds exam fees for ABOG candidates.

  3. Pearson VUE may not change any information on the Customers screen tabs in Registration Manager. If a candidate needs to change any information, they must contact ABOG before coming to take the exam. ABOG will make the changes and send an updated record to Pearson VUE.

  4. Candidates need to request accommodations from ABOG, as noted in the "Accommodations" section. The Pearson VUE Accommodations Team will schedule the appointments and make the necessary arrangements.

  5. ABOG sends authorized candidates an authorization letter. This letter indicates the time period during which an exam appointment can be scheduled and tells the candidate how to schedule an appointment. All ABOG exams are delivered during a specific time period.

Rescheduling and Canceling

Future ABOG candidates must cancel exam appointments at least 24 hours before the appointment via the candidate website or the call center. Some registrations with accommodations need to be rescheduled or canceled through the call center.

RETAKE REQUIREMENTS

Candidates who want to retake an exam must contact ABOG to get a new authorization. All retake policies are enforced by ABOG and not by Pearson VUE. Since an authorization covers only one exam, ABOG must send Pearson VUE a new eligibility file for the candidate before a new appointment can be entered in the system.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Candidates must submit requests for accommodations to ABOG, and all requests must be approved before the exam appointment. Pearson VUE cannot approve accommodations.

Refer candidates to the following sites for information about accommodations the exam sponsor offers:

  1. General information: https://www.pearsonvue.com/us/en/test-takers/accommodations.html

  2. Accommodations by program: https://www.pearsonvue.com/us/en/test-takers/accommodations/select-program.html

Client accommodations are never rescindable at the test center through Delivery Manager.

Never manually extend the exam time for extra time accommodations.

CLIENT SPECIFIC

If there are technical issues, all efforts should be made to resume the candidate’s exam.  Contact a program coordinator before allowing a candidate to leave

Some general points about ABOG exams are listed below:

  1. Candidates are not expected to know how to use a computer.

  2. Candidates use the Next and Previous buttons to move between questions and are allowed to mark questions for review. Candidates are not required to provide an answer before moving to the next question.

  3. ABOG exams must be completed in one day; ABOG does not support multi-day appointments.

ENDING AN EXAM

Follow the standard policy for ending an exam.
